Alcatel-Lucent says it will build, operate and manage Orange Uganda's mobile network, by providing technical support, repairs, field maintenance and programme management services.

Philippe Luxcey, CEO of Orange Uganda, says: “We can focus on our core business, while Alcatel-Lucent provides a comprehensive maintenance services portfolio, global delivery capability, and the strong technical skills we need to help us deliver enhanced services more reliably to our customers.”

"Orange Uganda is looking to reduce costs by employing new business models for operating and maintaining a network which offers a comprehensive range of communications services across its territory,” says Vincenzo Nesci, president of Alcatel-Lucent's activities for Africa and the Middle East.
