OTG delivers CTI building block

One Technology Group (OTG), the Own Brand company in the Siltek IT Supply Chain Group, will be simplifying the implementation of a managed computer telephony integration (CTI) solution through the distribution of the Dialogic CT Connect Call Information Manager telephony software package.

The package handles large amounts of call-related data across multiple switches and remote locations. "By managing call-related data in a standard and automated manner, Call Information Manager allows business applications to handle calls more easily and effectively," says Charmaine Finniss, product manager at OTG.

The package is designed as a building block component that can be easily integrated into a variety of applications. Version 2.0 addresses the needs of application developers who require real-time access to caller data by adding the capability of storing caller data directly in memory via a C-language API.

As in the previous version, application developers can also access and store call data in a SQL-compliant database. Either way, Call Information Manager manages all call-related data and automatically maintains the association between each data element and its call, as calls are established, transferred and disconnected. As a result, popular CTI features like screen pops can be easily added to mainstream business applications such as Customer Relationship Management systems without requiring the development of additional CTI software.

"With this enhanced version, Call Information Manager offers business application developers the opportunity to effectively add CTI features," says Finniss. "Many mainstream business applications can benefit from CTI technology, and building blocks such as Call Information Manager make it easier for developers to add these capabilities without having to become CTI gurus," she concludes.
