OTG supports Intel with latest ASUS

One Technology Group (OTG), the own brand company in the Siltek IT Supply Chain Group, has brought the ASUS P3V-4X motherboard to the local market, supporting the latest in Intel Pentium II and III Coppermine and Celeron processors, from 233 MHz to 733+MHz. Based on the VIA Apollo Pro133A chipset with ATX form factor, the mainboard chipset is equipped with a 133MHz front side bus (FSB) and support for PC100/PC133 SDRAM and AGP 4X. Ultra DMA/66, Wake-On LAN and chassis intrusion, makes the job of IT support, specifically in larger environments, that much easier.

"Total cost of ownership is the major issues for the corporate market, from medium to large enterprises," says Richard Watters, ASUS product manager at OTG. "A greater initial outlay will often be chosen as support costs down the road are greatly reduced."

He adds that desktop management is becoming increasingly automated, and by building this technology into the hardware of a device, starting at ground zero with the mainboard, operations are that much more efficient and fail-safe. "Because hardware does not rely on software to interface with other hardware, operations are far more robust," says Watters.

The board is bundled with ASUS PC Health Monitoring software, to ensure maximum system safety. "If a failures occur during operation, Health Monitoring software can make a full recovery of the machine, reducing downtime, and therefore operational expenses by bringing the machine back up far faster than standard mainboards will allow," says Watters.

He adds: "The six PCI slots enable the use of multiple hardware devices such as SCSI, CD-RW and DVD-ROM, and solve the problem of future expansion of the machines. With the 4 x SDRam slots this board is enhanced to work with up to 2.0gb of PC100/PC133MHz SDRam, which is great for large applications."
