One Technology Group (OTG) sole South African OEM Channel for ASUS notebooks and servers is delivering more flexible PC solutions using the newest Intel chipset-equipped ASUS motherboard, the ASUS CUSL2 Socket-370 i815E ATX.
The motherboard offers vendors a complete platform solution that utilises a single driver featuring full backward compatibility for increased quality and reliability. Intel's 3D with Direct AGP can be upgraded by adding a Graphics Performance Accelerator (GPA) card (or A.I.M.M.), or an AGP4X VGA card for maximum 3D graphics and video performance.
"The smart integration in the Intel 815E chipset design is extended to feature optional internal LAN capability as well as four USB ports. By combining internal graphics, and support for four USB ports with the ability to take advantage of soft audio/modem technology, the Intel 815E chipset delivers a solution suited to new innovative form factors for both e-business and multimedia machines, one of the main features of this motherboard is the ability to support the new UltraDMA100mb/sec on the IDE bus" says Richard Watters, Asus brand manager at OTG.
The mainboard supports all popular Intel processors from the entry-level Celeron, through to the current Pentium III Coppermine range. Although the board supports both PC133 and PC100 SDRAM, the Intel chipset is optimised for PC133 SDRAM in its bid to cater to the higher end user. "When used in lower spec systems this board allows a clear upgrade path, protecting customer investment and maximising return on investment," says Watters.
