Outdoor apparel retailer goes mobile
One of Maine's oldest and best-known retailers, LL Bean, has unveiled a mobile-commerce Web site for consumers with smartphones, reports Bangor Daily News.
According to Benzinga, the new LL Bean m-commerce site works with smartphones such as the iPhone, Blackberry and Android. Users are automatically redirected to LL Bean's mobile Web site when searching for llbean.com from a smartphone's Web browser.
Shoppers can search, browse, purchase and read product ratings and reviews from any Internet-enabled mobile phone.
Key features of its easy-to-use mobile shopping experience include: site search, store finder, LL Bean Visa Card coupon lookup, click to call customer service, ratings and reviews, e-mail sign up and complete product descriptions.
Further, the mobile commerce site, built by m-commerce technology provider Usablenet, enables customers to sign in to and manage their accounts, writes Internet Retailer.
For customers with an LL Bean-branded Visa card, this includes looking up how many points they've accumulated on their cards to see how much they can save making a purchase in-store or via the mobile site.
