Outdoor transmissions made easy with WiFi CPE from AirLive

Johannesburg, 23 May 2007

Adhering to outdoor wireless transmission needs, Nology, a distributing agent of imported quality broadband and networking products, has introduced AirLive's WH-5400CP, an all-in-one WiFi CPE device optimised for Wisps (wireless Internet service providers) and other outdoor wireless applications.

The WH-5400CPE features weather-proof ABS+PC+antiUV material with an integrated 12dBi antenna, which delivers a wireless signal up to 6km.

The flexibility of this device is impressive as it features three modes - client, Access Point (AP) or WDS Bridge. The client mode is ideal for Wisp applications as the WiFi CPE device can connect to the Wisp base station as a client, increasing the reach of the Wisp significantly.

The bridge mode connects two locations and the AP mode provides wireless connectivity.

Importantly, the unit features a Power over Ethernet system, which means the need for power connections or points is alleviated. "AirLive's WiFi CPE device is an ideal solution for those providers that require a powerful and convenient device for transmitting reliably over a considerable distance," says Riaan Leuschner, managing director at Nology.

The WH-5400CP CPE also incorporates AirLive's Atheros SuperG multi-function Access Point that is compatible with Client, AP, or WDS Bridge functions.

Further strengthening device functionality, the access point is designed for long-distance outdoor application with strong signal and heat-proof materials for stable performance.
