Outsource? Insource? Rather try Smartsourcing, says NSS Consulting

Johannesburg, 08 Sep 2003

NSS Consulting has launched its new Smartsourcing concept aimed at organisations looking to stabilise outsourced expenditure.

According to NSS Director Lynda Odendaal, the new concept was created following intensive investigation by her team, which had examined local and international sourcing trends. More to the point, she said, Smartsourcing had been created due to the increased difficulties and challenges faced by many local companies for whom outsourcing had meant diminished control.

"There is also an ever-increasing demand on companies to comply with established fiduciary and governance requirements," Odendaal stated.

"Many of the traditional outsource service providers have failed to scale their services in accordance with their customers` business growth requirements. NSS`s team of advisors will assist and enable customers to identify functions that should remain outsourced and those that should rationally be brought in-house. There is also the option of a more selective outsource contract approach which can be explored for better service and cost savings."

An NSS consultant, Odendaal explained, conducts an initial audit of the client`s business and devises the most appropriate strategy for deploying further business process, systems or application sourcing.

"In essence," she says, "Smartsourcing is all about forming long-term, sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships that are results- and services-based."

NSS Consulting also provides workshops to discuss the challenges and benefits of Smartsourcing, and offers the industry-unique business simulation, Sail, which was launched in August.
