Peregrine Systems, Inc, a leading global software company, today announced that Hewitt Associates, a global outsourcing and consulting firm, is upgrading to Peregrine`s Action Request System 5.0 (AR System) platform. Peregrine is represented locally by MGX.
Introduced last week, Peregrine`s AR System 5.0 is a development environment and application platform used to rapidly build and power flexible applications that automate and extend business processes. Key features include: powerful Web technology, which facilitates Web authoring and deployment of customised applications; fast and efficient localisation of applications; easy integration with external data sources; and enhanced user productivity through both Web and Windows interfaces.
During the past five years, Hewitt has internally developed numerous workflow applications using Peregrine`s AR System, including help desk, physical inventory tracking and internal order processing applications.
Leveraging AR System 5.0`s Web capabilities, Hewitt is developing a Web-based employee service request system on its corporate Intranet to more efficiently manage information systems (IS)-related requests and implement service-level-agreements. This new application will provide a central management system to manage IT service requests, expedite the service process, prioritise the allocation of IT resources and provide detailed reporting on the services rendered.
