Outsourcing to reach the cloud
Cloud computing technology could be used by small and medium enterprises in the recruitment industry as one expert says outsourcing will continue to grow in 2011, notes HostWay.
Zain Wadee, director of recruitment firm Hyphen, says recruitment process outsourcing will grow as businesses look to 'improve cost and quality of hire'.
In October, PricewaterhouseCoopers reported that the outsourcing market could help alleviate possible job losses in the public and private sector and enable flexibility. Additionally, it said organisations with flexible supplies could create new opportunities in the future, with cloud and virtualisation giving small businesses the IT capabilities of a large company.

Carolina to privatise IT
North Carolina is proposing to privatise its IT services as part of a broad cost-cutting move, writes Government Computer News.
Governor Bev Perdue says she wants to hire a vendor to consolidate and centralise the state's IT services, Matt Williams writes in Government Technology.
Across the state government, Perdue would consolidate 14 departments into eight, institute a hiring freeze and outsource the state's procurement process, Williams writes. North Carolina's Office of IT Services would be folded into a new Department of Management and Administration, and about 100 computer service units would be closed.
