Ovations launches OneStream

Ovations announces OneStream - end-to-end business process management, case, content management suite

Johannesburg, 04 Nov 2011

South African-based business transformation solutions provider Ovations has announced the launch of a complete Microsoft-based enterprise architecture offering, which provides an end-to-end case management, BPM and ECM capabilities in a unified services-oriented offering - OneStream.

OneStream is Ovaflo`s existing case management framework, now seamlessly integrated with Microsoft`s Sharepoint for Enterprise Content Management and K2 Blackpearl for business process management.

"Although Ovaflo is an extremely powerful case and work management framework and user experience, we at Ovations found that customers often struggled to understand how the principles of BPM case management and ECM empowered by SOA should integrate with each other," says Emile Pepermans, Director of Solution Centre at Ovations.

"By partnering with Microsoft and K2, we have been able to bring all of these enterprise components together into one bundle. Now, clients are able to implement the OneStream architecture with the knowledge that they will not only benefit from the Ovaflo toolset with regards to case management, but also from K2 blackPearl as a process management tool and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 for enterprise content management."

Ovaflo was initially developed for the financial services industry in 1999 and now leverages a mixture of process, content and analytics-based engines, which are designed to quickly integrate with business methodologies and best practices. This combination, in conjunction with Ovations` extensive experience in the effective delivery of BPM and ECM solutions, offers clients a simpler implementation process and greater agility, including advanced case management workflow functionality on day one.

"Ovaflo is a Web-based environment which focuses heavily on moving the business towards true enterprise process automation while incorporating existing methodologies. Put more simply, we want to encourage organisations to rely less on manual procedures by embracing the technology found in this package in a manner that is comfortable for them," added Pepermans.

Although OneStream can be applied to any business environment, Ovations gave added focus to the financial sector during the design and product bundling process. As a result, OneStream features several preconfigured financial processes, forms, taxonomies and services, which make up the solution set. Key to this is a preconfigured solution for a credit card onboarding/application, which manages all the regulatory and process-related requirements associated with this service, including records management and legislative approval.

From an IT perspective, the OneStream architecture is built on the latest Microsoft .Net foundation, which delivers a number of direct benefits to client.

"Not only is there more availability for .Net developers in South Africa, but they are also considerably more cost effective than their JAVA counterparts. This, when combined with the effectiveness of Microsoft`s tooling, and the highly productive software development life cycle, and swift roll-out associated with this platform, results in not only a reduction in time to market, but also significant cost savings," concluded Pepermans.

From a cloud computing perspective, OneStream also offers a number of benefits. Both the BPM and SOA-based implementations within the toolset are available in a cloud-based, virtualised environment. This provides a significant advantage in exposing business processes either in a private or public cloud-based infrastructure.

In short, OneStream`s new K2 and Microsoft-based toolset gives the power back to the client. By making short wins and speedy implementation a reality, Ovations is helping organisations to realise the true benefit behind effective business and enterprise process management.
