Business solutions and services company, Ovations has signed a consultancy agreement with UK-based financial solutions provider, Misys.

The partnership sees Ovations become Misys' preferred channel in SA, expanding the footprint of the UK-based organisation.

Misys International Financial Systems is a member of the Misys Group of Companies. services lead, says: “The investment in the banking sector is a natural progression for Ovations.

“I think the key motivator for us was the investment Misys put into the Fusion platform. Our theme for 2012 is structured growth, and we are selecting key areas of growth, and one of our strategies is to partner with large industry vendors.”

Fouche says further partnerships are on the cards for Ovations, and the niche business transformation player plans to grow into Africa as its financial customers grow.

Fouche explains that the South African top-tier banks have prioritised cost reduction and product agility. He says local banks are also increasingly targeting new geographies and new customer segments to drive revenue growth.

“The timing of this partnership is ideal for capitalising on the market trends, but also in expanding our existing client portfolios, primarily in the area of core banking, which is a key strength of the Misys value proposition,” Fouche adds.

Marius Claassens, Misys client services executive, says the financial services company is looking to expand its services into Africa, and that Ovations consultancy services matches the company's services and solutions.

Misys currently has more than 4 000 employees worldwide, and delivers services to more than 1 200 financial institutions, including every one of the world's top 50 banks in more than 120 countries.
