IT Wise, the Sub-Saharan distributor for Packeteer, today announced today announced that the latter`s PacketShaper 9500 appliance has earned a prestigious 2006 Technology of the Year Award from InfoWorld magazine.
Selected from more than 300 products reviewed by the InfoWorld Test Center in 2005, Packeteer`s WAN application optimisation system won in the networking category, and was named the year`s best WAN traffic manager.
InfoWorld`s annual Technology of the Year Awards identify significant technologies of the past year that promise to make the greatest impact on enterprise IT strategies, and honour the products that best exemplify the implementation of those technologies.

Packeteer`s PacketShaper 9500 was lauded by InfoWorld as "The Cadillac of QoS for WAN circuits, topped by extensive reporting" in the 2 January 2006 issue.
