The market demand for high durability and hi-tech image processing in a compact-sized unit has met its match, thanks to the introduction of two top-performing duplex colour laser printers on the local market by NPC Electronics Ltd, the exclusive importer and distributor of Panasonic products in SA.
The new units, known as the KX-CL500 and KX-CL510 respectively, will make their South African d'ebut in October 2003. Integral to the WORKiO range of office automation products, the KX-CL500 and KX-CL510 are equipped with Ethernet, USB and IEEE network ports. Both have several outstanding features, including:

* Intelligent printing capability, facilitated by Universal Cassettes, which allows for automatic tray selection and switching to find and use the right-sized paper for any print job requested; and
* Automatic duplex (optional), allowing for cost-effective double-sided printing at the same speed as single-sided printing (enabled by Panasonic`s advanced technology).
In addition, these two new colour laser printers can be controlled remotely using a standard Web browser. Simply enter the printer`s IP address to view the machine status on your screen, including details of documents spooled for printing, printer errors, paper outages and consumables that need replenishment. Alternately, use the Internet to send jobs directly to the printer using the printer`s e-mail-print feature.
Either way, the KX-CL500 and KX-CL510 have the potential to enhance organisational efficiency and workflow, without the need for additional expenditure or other resource allocation. Best of all, research has shown that the cost per printed page using the KX-CL500 or KX-CL510 is comparable to the cost-per-page of networked black-and-white printers.
