Imagine what you could achieve if you had access to your diverse marketing audiences at your fingertips. The Panasonic BB-S700PD Streaming Box and BB-SMG700 Media Server, teamed with an industry-leading Panasonic Plasma Display (PDP) panel, allow you to create a cost-efficient and highly automated digital signage and advertising network, enabling you to reach this ambition at the push of a button.
Launched internationally earlier this year, the BB-S700PD Streaming Box and BB-SMG700 constitute an optional IP-based content delivery and scheduling system for the PDP platform and will be introduced to the local market mid-2005 by NPC (Electronics) Limited - the exclusive importer and distributor of Panasonic products in SA (Panasonic).
The key functional features of the BB-S700PD/BB-SMG700 combo, include:
* Multi-format support (24fps or 30fps line progressive resolution, MPEG2, still frames and Web content);
* Networked control of the content play-out for up to 100 PDPs using a single Windows XP Professional PC (via Internet);
* Media scheduling for individual (or multiple) PDPs, enabling users to compile exciting multimedia advertising systems;
* Local- or remotely-controlled playback of scheduled media content (the latter via IP protocols over a LAN);
* Data encryption, ensuring that content remains `private`
* Efficient, safe data delivery, using Panasonic`s unique Block Data Transfer System - encrypted media is delivered in data blocks, automatically re-delivering specific data blocks in the event of a data delivery error;
* Easy installation - the Streaming Box BB-S700PD fits into the function slot of a PDP, so neither connecting cables nor separate installation space are required;
* Consistently high-quality audio and visual performance (all connections are digital).
The seventh generation PDP`s 42-, 50- and 65-inch variants) plays a vital role in the capacity of the BB-S700PD Streaming Box and delivers media content at high quality.
"The combination of the BB-S700PD, BB-SMG700 and Panasonic plasma display panels offers incredible creative scope," says Keith Stanton, Divisional Manager: Panasonic Telecommunications and Presentation Systems. "For the first time ever, corporate organisations have direct access to a fully-networked server-to-plasma content play-out system, which effectively gives them full control of their advertising content and reach."
