Panda battens down security hatches

Cape Town, 12 Sep 2006

To help consumers more effectively protect themselves and their data from the ever-growing number of viruses, Trojans, worms and other malware, Panda Software has released two new products to complement its recently released Panda Antivirus 2007.

According to local Panda MD, Jeremy Matthews, Panda Antivirus+Firewall 2007 offers a double layer of protection. The product uses the company`s TruPrevent technologies to detect and disable both known and unknown malware while integration of Panda Firewall helps to keep hackers out.

The second product focuses on the more annoying but equally disruptive world of Internet-borne threats. Panda Internet Security 2007 protects against viruses and spyware while also offering advanced anti-spam and anti-phishing functionality.

This product also incorporates technology designed specifically to prevent the theft of personal or confidential data, guaranteeing maximum security for users when connected to the Internet.

Says Matthews: "The two updated products, along with Panda Antivirus 2007, were developed specifically to help consumers cope with the ever-changing modern landscape of computer threats - wherever they may come from. The suite was designed to adapt to the specific security requirements of the user and characteristics of the PC without negatively impacting computer performance."

The new products include services bundled with all Panda Software solutions: automatic updates several times a day, tech support 24h-365d via Internet or e-mail and 24h-SOS Virus service to analyse suspicious programs. Panda Antivirus 2007 includes a licence for two computers while Antivirus+Firewall and Internet Security include a licence for three PCs.
