Magix Integration, the exclusive distributors of Panorama for the African continent, has succeeded in recruiting, in a matter of months, the `cream` of BI implementers to provide Panorama`s Novaview Business Intelligence solutions.
The rapid uptake of Panorama`s products has, in no small way, been due to the efforts of Microsoft SA to perpetuate the global partnership agreement between Microsoft and Panorama.
Panorama were the original creators of OLAP, which was purchased by Microsoft in 1995. OLAP became the basis of Microsoft`s SQL Server Analysis Services. Panorama maximizes the capabilities of the Microsoft BI Platform to provide enterprise class business intelligence solutions. More specifically, back office components that Panorama builds on include Microsoft`s Reporting Services, Analysis Services (OLAP and Data Mining), Data Transformation Services, Replication Services and Relational Database. For the presentation layer, Panorama provides a WEB interface, a thick client and native links into Excel, Microsoft Office Business Scorecard`s Accelerator and Sharepoint Portal Server. Microsoft has outrun all its competitors in the BI market and has rapidly moved into the number one position with a current market share of over 30%. As recently as 2000, Microsoft held only 10% of the market.
Panorama is not only `BI for the masses` but also recently outperformed all competitors at benchmarks held by Unisys on Microsoft 64-bit architecture, using the ES7000 machine running SQL Analysis services.
