Panorama unveils plans for new advanced performance scorecards

Panorama Software announces support for Microsoft`s new advanced business scorecards application
Toronto, 12 May 2005

Panorama Software, a global leader in business intelligence (BI) solutions for the Microsoft platform, today announced that its next generation of performance scorecard solutions, code-named "Symphony", will be based on Microsoft`s new business performance management application code-named "Maestro".

Together, Symphony and Maestro will provide Panorama with enterprise-ready solutions that address key performance needs for customers looking to improve results across all levels of an organisation.

Symphony extends Maestro`s platform by integrating Panorama`s robust analytics, enterprise reporting and interactive dashboards to provide organisations with advanced performance scorecards. The solution joins Panorama Supply Chain Intelligence as the latest addition to the company`s growing set of business intelligence applications focused on helping companies improve performance. Key technical features of Symphony include:

* With Panorama`s "Click to Analyse" capabilities, the same function that is found in Panorama`s other BI applications, users can seamlessly move from a scorecard, directly into advanced analytics mode.

* Panorama`s "Bubble-up Exceptions" proactively identifies trends and possible problem areas and automatically exposes these issues to decision-makers.

* Panorama`s advanced security and user permissions enable organisations to securely share information over the Web with users inside and outside the firewall.

"Standard scorecards are useful at highlighting `how` a business is performing, but for many decision-makers understanding `why` a result happened is even more critical," said Dr Allon Cohen, Vice-President, Product Management, Panorama Software. "Symphony provides the `next mile` by tightly integrating rich multidimensional analytics to scorecards, allowing decision-makers to understand the drivers behind results. This next level of insight provides organisations greater confidence in making crucial business decisions."

Panorama Software is one of the first partners to participate in Microsoft`s early adopter programme for "Maestro". The Microsoft Technology Adoption Programme (TAP) engages a select group of companies to directly interface and work with Microsoft`s development team on Maestro from the earliest stages of development through the final release. Additionally, Panorama is working with several of its customers as design partners for Symphony.

"Panorama Software continues to provide exceptional BI solutions to our organisation," said Michal Zelivyansky, BI Manager, M-Systems. With this latest scorecard solution built on top of the Microsoft platform, we are now able to integrate real performance measures into our business processes. A significant value-add in our day-to-day operations."

"Through its business intelligence solutions, Panorama Software continues to be a market leader in supporting and enhancing the Microsoft BI platform," said Lewis Levin, corporate vice-president of Office Business Applications at Microsoft. "Together we are providing companies better ways to understand challenges, effectively shape solutions and quickly execute on objectives."

Panorama Software continues to demonstrate its commitment and BI leadership for the Microsoft platform. Most recently it announced that its flagship BI solution - Panorama 4.5 - fully supports SQL Server 2005. Panorama 4.5 features new functionalities that enable businesses to implement comprehensive, high performance BI solutions faster and more cost-effectively.
