Parallel has appointed Cable and Networks as its latest SatManage channel partner. The network and systems integrator is based in Harare, Zimbabwe, and will add Parallel`s satellite network management suite to its portfolio.
SatManage is a vendor-independent suite that includes visual correlation to allow predictive management of network problems.
Cable and Networks will sell and implement the software for clients in the southern African region.
Parallel says southern Africa is one of the world`s biggest growth areas of satellite networking.
Using very small aperture terminal (VSAT) technology, countries without a sophisticated terrestrial communications infrastructure can be connected easily to IT networks. VSAT is particularly relevant to the vertical markets of finance, lotteries, rural telephony/Internet and SME broadband access, says the company.
"We are very pleased to welcome Cable and Networks to the SatManage channel partner programme," says Tim Moore, director of Parallel.
"By outsourcing the extremely specialist and complex area of satellite network management to Parallel, Cable and Networks will be able to concentrate on sales and take advantage of this exciting period of growth in the satellite market."
