Tap In Systems, developer of a cloud-based systems management service, and 3Tera, a cloud and utility computing services company, have partnered to offer cloud computing solutions through 3Tera's AppLogic cloud computing platform.

According to the companies, this joint venture integrates Tap In Systems' Cloud Management Service (CMS) into the standard AppLogic catalogue of virtual appliances.

Users will be able to monitor critical alerts, systems utilisation and notifications more effectively on AppLogic-based applications, the companies believe.

"This solution blends together a turnkey cloud computing platform and enterprise-class cloud monitoring to create a powerful solution,” says founder and CEO of Tap In Systems, Peter Loh.

The companies say running Tap In Systems' CMS on AppLogic ensures the high availability of the monitoring system itself and provides instant failover solutions for Tap In's CMS.

According to Tap In Systems and 3Tera, the benefits to organisations will be a more accurate and up-to-date view of the system with robust system metrics and historical overview, as well as allowing for remote monitoring across multiple applications and clouds.

"Enterprise users adopting cloud computing expect the same level of monitoring capability they can achieve in their own centres,” says Bert Armijo, senior vice-president of sales, marketing and product management at 3Tera.

He adds that Tap In Systems' cloud management solutions integrate effectively with 3Tera's Cloudware architecture for open cloud computing, allowing users to build, run and manage large-scale applications without limiting their choices of operating system, middleware, security, location, architecture or vendors.
