SecureData Security, part of JSE-listed SecureData Holdings and a sub-Saharan distributor for Passlogix, today announced that the latter's v-GO Access Accelerator Suite, an integrated set of single sign-on, authentication and provisioning enablement products that includes the market's leading enterprise single sign-on solution, has been awarded Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 3+ (EAL3+ALC_FLR.1) certification. The designation assists both government and industry to determine whether computer products have been developed according to rigorous security requirements.
EAL3+ provides a moderate level of independently assured security based on a thorough investigation of the product and its development. The certification was granted under the auspices of the Australian Defence Signals Directorate's Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program (AISEP).
“For organisations that are looking for an independent security assessment of the products they wish to purchase, EAL3+ is a valuable certification,” commented Stephane Fymat, Passlogix vice-president of strategy and product management. “The EAL3+ certification of v-GO enhances our market leadership and gives customers confidence in the security of our products, as well as the integrity of our software development process.”
The v-GO Access Accelerator Suite consists of integrated software solutions that eliminate everyday challenges in sign-on, authentication and provisioning. The products assist enterprises in improving user productivity, strengthening enterprise security, complying with government and industry regulations, and streamlining identity management deployments.
v-GO products that have earned EAL3+ certification include: v-GO Single Sign-On, which provides users with fast and secure access to enterprise applications without requiring them to remember and manage multiple IDs and passwords; v-GO Session Manager, which automates user sign-on and sign-off of kiosk sessions; and v-GO Self-Service Password Reset, which automates the resetting of Windows logon passwords.
Also covered under the certification program are: v-GO Authentication Manager, which allows smart cards and other strong authenticators to be used to authenticate users to individual applications without expensive custom integration, and v-GO Provisioning Manager, which expedites ESSO deployments by enabling administrators to pre-load user IDs and passwords directly to the ESSO system without any user involvement.
New v-GO modules that were not evaluated for certification because they were introduced after the process began include: the v-GO On Demand Edition, which extends the benefits of single sign-on beyond the four walls of the enterprise, by providing users with secure access to applications from any computer; and v-GO Shared Accounts Manager, which provides a simple, secure and audit-ready approach for administrators and others who must legitimately share account IDs, such as privileged accounts.
