Pastel training programme a key factor in export success

Johannesburg, 11 Mar 2003

An international training programme that within 12 months has grown from a zero base to a point where courses are booked for every week of the year, has been a critical factor in the success of the international export drive of accounting and payroll software specialist Softline Pastel.

"The training programme is having a significant impact on our export business in Africa, Europe and Australia," says Jeff Lewis, international sales director at Softline Pastel. "Training takes our dealer partnerships to new levels of expertise and adds value to users."

Lewis refers to a recent roadshow in Manchester that led to more than 30 new dealers in the UK and Ireland signing with Pastel. Training courses were conducted and many of the new dealers are now running seminars for accountants to join the Pastel Accountants Forum, which opens up their small and medium enterprise customer bases to Pastel products.

"Our export marketing and sales drive is being strengthened by the training programme. It is widening our customer reach, cementing our partnerships with dealers and bringing in new business and increased revenue streams."
