PaySpace expands its payroll and HR offering into Africa, Middle East

Johannesburg, 11 Jul 2011

PaySpace is the leader in online payroll and human resource software in South Africa, and has expanded its groundbreaking cloud-based offering into 18 African countries as well as the Middle East.

The countries that are currently included are Swaziland, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Ghana, Eritrea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Senegal, Madagascar, Mozambique, Guinea Conakry and Saudi Arabia.

PaySpace CEO Bruce van Wyk says: “Our cloud-based offering allows us to penetrate and deploy new tax authorities in a very short space of time, without any software installations, as PaySpace's revolutionary technology is totally Web-based. With our cloud infrastructure, we are able to vastly reduce the costs to our clients while delivering world-class support remotely, thereby not requiring on-site personnel.”

PaySpace has set up a strategic relationship with a world-renowned global accounting firm and added a large amount of enhancements to PaySpace to create powerful functionality to assist clients in rolling out into international regions literally overnight. Clients can take advantage of the PaySpace technology to get data input from the source, electronically approve it in locations around the world through advanced workflow capability, and ultimately, process the information from anywhere in the world.

“This ability to decentralise the responsibility of the data collection, combined with the need for centralised control and access to information, has strongly complemented the trend we are seeing where businesses are using South Africa to set up their regional head office as a gateway into Africa,” adds Van Wyk.

The PaySpace international offering is a highly advanced, country-specific solution. Over and above the need to comply with local tax authorities, the need for advanced workflow capabilities, PaySpace also covers the requirement for expats working in other countries to gross up their earnings by relevant statutory contributions according to currency and contracts offered in their home countries. PaySpace is able to supply employee and company-based reporting in host and home currencies, as well as comply with consolidated reporting in any currency required by multinational companies.

The phenomenal successes with existing clients could see PaySpace's international offering extend to Canada, Europe and South America in as little as three months.

“We have implemented an aggressive expansion strategy, where additional countries are being added on a monthly basis within all the continents mentioned earlier, to ensure that PaySpace maintains its leading position as the benchmark in payroll and HR,” concludes Van Wyk.
