PC POS, a global retail solutions group, has announced that it has won a significant new order to supply Circuit City Stores Incorporated with ePOS systems, cable management and diagnostic software.
Circuit City, with more than 600 stores and nearly 20 000 point of sale terminals across North America, is one of the US`s leading retailers of consumer electronics, personal computers, software, movies, music and games. The company has established a reputation for keen pricing, excellence in customer service and knowledgeable, well-trained sales staff.
Circuit City will deploy the PC POS DigiPoS system to a number of stores this year as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade store technology. The DigiPoS units were identified after a rigorous selection process, in which PC POS excelled over several other well-established, traditional POS suppliers.
David Nelms, assistant vice-president of MIS for Circuit City, said the PC POS system provided numerous value-added capabilities in addition to a superior hardware solution:
"From the outset, PC POS demonstrated a tremendous amount of flexibility in working with us to address our specific needs in a cost-effective manner. They worked closely with us to ensure seamless integration with a diverse set of peripheral devices, as well as our legacy systems. Also, as important, they worked diligently with us to provide an extremely robust deployment and support infrastructure for the DigiPoS devices."
Paul Jules, Managing Director of PC POS South Africa, sees the contract as another landmark order in the fast growing group`s history:
"We are excited to have won this significant contract. The focus of our North American operation was to build a relationship with Circuit City that allows both companies to leverage the most from the DigiPoS and our respective teams. This contract further recognises that PC POS is regarded as the premier, specialist supplier to retailers. Year on year since our formation in 1994, we have seen the market become more discerning about selection of POS/service suppliers - turning away from hardware-only manufacturers who no longer appear to have the solutions retailers now demand. The DigiPoS system backed up by PC POS service has again been seen as the optimum combination. We are very proud to have Circuit City as a valued customer. Our North American-based staff in are now enthusiastically implementing their tailored requirements across the US and we will be moving forward together with Circuit City in the delivery of this leading-edge technology solution."
