The Printer Distribution Company (PDC), a provider of industrial back- and front-office enterprise printing solutions, has recently added US-headquartered Microplex Electronic Printing Systems' continuous-form laser printers to its existing range of printers.
With a customer-base across southern Africa, PDC offers a comprehensive printer solution offering that includes brands such as Printronix, OKI, AMT Datasouth and Brother, collectively delivering a printer range that encompasses industrial line, dot matrix, thermal barcode, multi-function and laser printers.
The addition of Microplex sees PDC addressing the continuous-form laser printer marketplace, which essentially requires printing on large amounts of paper without operator intervention. These devices provide tighter registration over cut sheets and accommodate non-standard paper sizes.
Microplex's range of continuous-form laser printers include the Solid F24, Solid F32, Solid F60HD/F60, Solid F80, Solid F120, and Solid F155.

We believe our channel partners will make significant inroads into the specialised and potentially lucrative marketplace,” comments Rodney Bartman, CEO at PDC.
The recently introduced Microplex F60HD, for example, includes the features of the Solid F60 with high-definition printer resolution while meeting restriction on hazardous substances environmental standards. The product is optimised for production label environments that require continuous-form, laser print production.
The Solid F120 features print speeds of 120 pages per minute (two-up Letter format), a robust monthly duty cycle of 1.3 million pages (two-up Letter format), over 20 print language emulations, customised IPDS/IBM environment connectivity, onboard/no charge Ethernet and USB interfaces, 17-inch print width, 600x600 print resolution LED array imaging technology, and low temperature Xenon Flash fusing system.
Microplex continuous-form laser printers are available from all PDC branches across the country.
