Printronix has signed a distribution agreement with The Printer Distribution Company (PDC), which will see the Printronix range of printers supplied to southern Africa.

This will provide countries such as Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia, Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola and the Congo with low total cost of ownership printers for environments that require laser, serial and line matrix printers, according to PDC.

PDC says it is making an investment in order to distribute its products into southern Africa. "The company is gearing its stock to meet the supply/demand of the extended market and setting up a channel infrastructure," says Rodney Bartman, CEO of PDC.

"Expanding into southern Africa will allow PDC to tap into a new, previously underserved market. Companies in the financial, mining, automotive and government sectors require line matrix print technology and PDC is poised to meet their needs. The Printronix offering will provide these countries with access to a reliable, industrial strength printer brand."

PDC will also offer its existing range of branded printers to the southern African market, providing a choice of solutions for multiple environments.
