PDC to distribute Printronix P7000 line matrix cartridge printer

Johannesburg, 14 Sep 2010

The new P7000 cartridge printer gives users the same high-quality features they have come to know from Printronix line matrix printers, with the added advantage of a cartridge that enables easy replacement, delivers ease of change, clean hands installation, more uniform print quality and longer ribbon life.

The new cartridge printer is completely compatible with existing P7000 printer installations, and provides the same application and paper handling capabilities.

Clean hands:

The user only needs to handle the cartridge box. The need to touch and thread the ribbon fabric through the print mechanism is eliminated.

Easy to install:

Quick and easy to change, without requiring any special training.

Uniform print quality:

The cartridge ribbon regularly flips and rotates during operation, distributing the wear over the entire surface, resulting in more uniform print quality.

Longer ribbon life:

In addition to print quality enhancements, the continual flipping and rotation of the cartridge ribbon allows the user to maximise ink usage in the ribbon fabric as compared to spool ribbons.

Mission-critical dependability:

No other print technology delivers more trouble-free, high-volume printing than a Printronix line matrix printer.

Line matrix - superior print technology

Line matrix technology is used in the most mission-critical print applications. Especially good for multi-part forms, line matrix technology is the superior choice over laser and serial matrix printing.

Why choose line matrix over laser printing?

Printronix line matrix printers work predictably and consistently in challenging physical environments, performing reliably under temperature and humidity extremes. In contrast to laser printers, which require a pristine operating environment and high quality paper, the P7000 also works in current and legacy host environments to efficiently and reliably support critical business processes and are ideally suited for printing multi-part forms. In addition, the cost of supplies for a laser printer is six times the cost of supplies for a line matrix printer.

Why choose line matrix over serial printing?

Printronix line matrix printers are built to last at a higher level duty cycle and don't require the regular servicing of printheads and components required to keep a serial matrix printer operating. Line matrix printers have faster throughput, enabling you to replace several serial printers with one line matrix printer, thereby reducing your overall equipment costs. In addition, the cost of ribbons and printheads for a serial matrix printer is three times the cost of supplies for a line matrix printer.
