PeopleSoft Inc. has completed the FACTS II (Federal Agencies` Centralised Trial-Balance System II) certification of its Financial Management for Education and Government software in record time, setting a new standard in the Federal market for any government organisation looking for financial management improvements.
PeopleSoft was awarded FACTS II by the Joint Financial Management Improvement Programme (JFMIP), reports Jan Coetzee, managing director of PeopleSoft South Africa. "PeopleSoft earned this certification in record time with software acknowledged to be the most flexible and with the most technological advantages of any tested financial management vendor," he comments.
FACTS II is a U.S. Treasury-run system used by Federal agencies to report one set of consolidated financial data on quarterly and year-end closing and budgetary financial statements. As approved by the JFMIP Core Federal Financial System Software Qualification Test, PeopleSoft`s applications allow Federal agencies to take advantage of the most extensible, integrated and updated financial management software available while achieving greater productivity and efficiency for their financial management responsibilities.
PeopleSoft`s Financial Management for Education and Government applications fulfill complex accounting, management, reporting and budgeting requirements while simplifying and standardising processes, explains Coetzee. "Because of this, PeopleSoft`s more than 930 education and government customers are able to better control budgets and more efficiently manage resources."
The JFMIP, an independent agency under the auspices of the U.S. Treasury Department, aims to develop the necessary tools and capabilities to achieve the Chief Financial Officers Council`s top priorities of improving financial systems across government, eliminating duplicate reporting and standardising government data reporting. As part of the campaign to upgrade financial systems, Federal agencies are currently required to purchase JFMIP-certified financial management software.
