As part of a nationwide rollout, PeopleSoft South Africa, together with its implementation partner, Visions Consulting, and Deloittes Consulting, have implemented PeopleSoft`s entire Human Resources (HR) application suite and several of its Financial applications at Deloitte & Touche.
Quintin McGrath, IT director at Deloitte & Touche, reports that the PeopleSoft solutions were selected because they more than adequately met the functional requirements of the business environment at Deloitte & Touche. "In addition," he says, "PeopleSoft South Africa and Visions Consulting were able to customise the solutions to our exact business needs. The whole project, including customisation and roll-out, was carried out timeously and cost-effectively."
According to Jan Coetzee, managing director of PeopleSoft South Africa, the company has implemented its General Ledger application and its Accounts Payable solution, both of which are currently live in all local offices of Deloitte & Touche. "The implementation of the Asset Management module is in progress," he adds.
In addition, PeopleSoft SA has implemented many of the modules of the PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System (HRMS), including Administrator Workforce and Recruitment, Competency Management, Career Planning and Training Administration. The Leave Administration module is in the process of being implemented and Deloitte &Touche plans to use the Web client and workflow to automate the leave application process.
Tracy Lemon, managing director of Visions Consulting, explains how several of the HRMS modules were easily customised to suit Deloitte & Touche`s specific business requirements. "The system`s modules were implemented with PeopleSoft`s Web Self Service application. This enables users to update their personal details online using the firm`s Intranet. In addition, sophisticated functionality was built to allow end-users to conduct online performance appraisals, via remote access ," she says.
Coetzee says the PeopleSoft HRMS is vital to a client`s achievement of its growth strategies. "The solution enables users to manage and retain a company`s most important asset: people. Furthermore, the modular solution set enables clients to manage positions and compensation, recruit, allocate, and train employees, as well as comply with local and international regulatory requirements. With HRMS, users can create a workforce profile that spans the globe, or simply concentrates on one particular site."
