PeopleSoft, a global provider of eBusiness applications, has announced that it has joined UCCnet to collaborate on the development of eCommerce standards for the consumer products industry.
"Through its membership in UCCnet, a subsidiary of the Uniform Code Council (UCC), PeopleSoft will take part in the development of UCCnet standards for trading communities and develop applications and services for the consumer products industry that conform to UCCnet`s technical specifications," says Jan Coetzee, MD of PeopleSoft South Africa.
"UCCnet`s services are critical to furthering true collaboration over the Internet," adds Coetzee. "Consistent industry guidelines will set the stage for, and speed up, customers` implementation of eCommerce networks."
UCCnet is an open, industry-supported distributed Internet trading community. The organisation`s Internet-based services allow trading partners, Internet trade exchanges and solution partners to communicate synchronised product information throughout the supply chain in real-time.
"PeopleSoft is a valuable addition to UCCnet`s universal trading community," comments Fred Geiger, VP of product management at UCCnet. "PeopleSoft`s solutions will add value to our membership base, and further elevate the importance of synchronised information exchange."
CCnet is a universal foundation for industry standards-based electronic commerce. It synchronizes product information between business-to-business partners through an Internet-based trading community. In addition, UCCnet links solution providers and trade exchanges, providing companies visibility to a wide range of information and resources.
UCCnet leverages the legacy of the Uniform Code Council (UCC), an organization that establishes and promotes global standards for product identification and related electronic communications.
