Peregrine closes Q4, full year with strong sales

IT asset and service management software company Peregrine Systems closed its fiscal year on 31 March 2005 with the addition of 150 new customers and the completion of 900 transactions with existing customers. In the fourth quarter alone, 30 new customers were added and 200 transactions completed with existing customers.

These customers are among the nearly 1 500 companies worldwide that have turned to Peregrine`s IT asset and service management solutions to help them evolve to high-performing, proactive IT organisations.

"In 2005, several dynamics have driven customer demand for Peregrine software and allowed the company to deepen and broaden its footprint in the asset and service management market," says Inana Nkanza, MD of iLAYO Software Solutions, the local distributor of Peregrine products.

"We have seen a notable increase in ITservice-desk consolidation, change management and asset management integration projects. Across industries, our customers want to reduce the complexities created by multiple help-desks and homegrown asset management programs. In the fourth quarter, Peregrine achieved several notable wins across diverse industries, such as financial services, consumer electronics, consumer goods, energy and manufacturing.

The Delhaize Group, one of the world`s largest grocers, turned to Peregrine to help the organisation manage changes in its retail and production environment, which comprise a sales network of 2 565 stores and 138 000 employees.

"We have achieved substantial ROI by consolidating our service desks onto Peregrine`s ServiceCenter, integrating change and incident management on one platform," says Dale Edmiston, Food Lion`s senior manager of data centre and operations, who initiated the implementation at the Delhaize Group. "Because of the success in our two US subsidiaries, Food Lion and Hannaford Brothers, we have decided to expand the implementation throughout all of Delhaize`s operating units worldwide. Peregrine understands our business, and its solutions give us the competitive advantage we need."
