Productivity, speed and quality are all desirable elements for successful small to medium-sized businesses; hence Xerox's introduction of the Phaser 8560, a fast, affordable and easy-to-use solid ink colour printer designed for busy SMB work groups.
Philippa Dal Medico, channel manager at Square One Solutions Group, a JSE-listed company focused on IT-based business solutions and a boutique distributor of specialised Xerox colour printers, said superior output, flexibility in paper stock, high performance and low cost of ownership influence SMB buying decisions.
"The Phaser 8560 is fast with a first page out print time of just five seconds, and it will print both colour and black-and-white at up to 30 pages per minute," said Dal Medico.
"There's also a combined paper-tray capacity of 625 sheets, which is huge for a desktop device. The addition of a third and fourth tray takes capacity up to 1 675 sheets."
Dal Medico added that the solid ink technology employed in the Phaser 8560 makes it easier to use than colour lasers or inkjets. The solid ink delivers high-performance and outstanding print quality on a wide range of paper stocks at a very low cost of ownership, and replacing the inks is simple, quick and clean.
"There are standard printing productivity tools, including job accounting, booklet printing, image smoothing and others. Two-side printing is automatic, saving time and reducing costs. Automatic colour-enhancement tools ensure colour-intensive documents are printed reliably and accurately."
As security of data becomes increasingly important for business, the 8560 DX version offers built-in security tools. The secure print feature holds hard copy output until a PIN is entered, and a hard drive overwrite feature "shreds" data on request or after every job is completed.
"This printer offers consistent, vivid colour and encourages creativity with its ability to print on business card stock, postcards, labels, transparencies and other paper varieties, no matter what variances there are in the paper stock quality," Dal Medico said.
"With a duty cycle of up to 85 000 pages a month, SMBs can also print large volume jobs in-house at considerably lower cost."
