The local subsidiary of Dutch electronics stalwart, Philips, has appointed an alternative third-party maintenance company, MTC Repairs, headed up by Clive Anderson, to facilitate all repairs to Philips monitors.
Tyrone Young, marketing manager: monitors and LCD projectors at Philips, confirms MTC will be dedicated to servicing only Philips monitors. This, together with the company`s countrywide satellite pick up and drop off points, means Philips users will experience a more secure and reliable delivery when it comes to the servicing of their monitors.
"The Philips product is growing in the market and we wanted to assure our end-users that our service levels wouldn`t drop," says Young. "We needed a second third-party agent to ensure that the pressure on our other service provider, ERS, didn`t become too much to handle."
"The appointment is a positive development for MTC as our client user base is bound to grow," says Anderson. "As an authorised Epson printer repair centre, we have the facilities to offer drop off and pick up sites in almost every province in the country, thereby assuring Philips clients of rapid and reliable service."
MTC`s head office is situated in Modderfontein, Edenvale and the company has satellite repair centres, which will be used as collection/drop off points, at Pretoria University, Witwatersrand University and at Mustek. "We also employ the services of trained repair centres in Pietermaritzburg, Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth," says Anderson.
MTC offers a five-day turnaround on repairs and can equip end-users with loan monitors while the repairs are being done. "We want to offer Philips users a more effective service with a guaranteed turnaround window," says Anderson. "Our staff complement of trained technicians boasts almost 100 years` combined experience in monitor repairs."
