Philips Business Communications (PBC) has released the latest model of its SOPHO iS1000 PABX system - a product which makes previously expensive functionality accessible and affordable for the small to medium enterprise market (SME).
Eddie Pelser, SOPHO iS1000 product manager at PBC, believes pricing of the new models will shake up a traditionally complacent market. "Functionality such as voicemail and Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephony (DECT) has traditionally carried a prohibitive price tag - at least as far as the SME market is concerned," he says.
`But with the latest SOPHO iS1000 range it is possible to get these features at very competitive prices at a minimal cost.
Developed along modular lines, the SOPHO iS1000 series allows users to upgrade on an incremental basis. When new functionality is required - such as video conferencing, PC Multimedia, Internet and WWW connections, it is available and only a phone call away.
Designed specifically to take advantage of ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) the range of applications available is wide. "The beauty of this system is that ISDN comes standard with the system. However should you have analogue requirements this can be easily be added to the system." says Pelser.
With the installation and charge costs of ISDN now at reasonable levels, he believes it is time for the SME market to take advantage of the technology.
