The local office of Dutch electronics giant, Philips, has unveiled the newest addition to its extensive LCD monitor family, the Brilliance 150P4, which is the first LCD monitor incorporating the company`s LightFrame 3 technology.
"Lightframe is designed to enhance brightness and sharpness in multiple, user-selected areas or windows," says Tyrone Young, marketing manager: monitors and LCD projectors at Philips locally. "The ability to enhance brightness and sharpness allows users to dramatically improve pictures, video display and Internet pages while maintaining sharp screen images with traditional text-based applications.
"The LightFrame3 is a marked upgrade from the original LightFrame technology unveiled in 2000, with its ability to simultaneously enhance multiple images - up to 16 images in Internet Explorer and up to eight in photo-viewing applications," he adds. Until now the technology was only available in CRT monitors, but Philips has extended it to include its LCD monitor range, starting with the 150P4.
"As well as Philips` LightFrame3 technology, this new model comes with Philips` Zero Bright-dot policy which eliminates the usual `bright dot` pixel errors normally associated with the production process," Young says.
As in all Philips Brilliance models, the 150P4 also has both analogue (D-Sub) and DVI-D inputs, offering the display quality of a true digital monitor with bright, sharp images and truer colour representation, while maintaining support for traditional analogue signals.
Responding to the growing concerns around ergonomics, Philips has introduced LCD monitors that are adjustable, guaranteeing an optimum seating and viewing position. The adjustable viewing height of the 150P4 allows the viewer to position the screen to the most comfortable and productive viewing height.
The product is VESA wall-mount compliant, and features an integrated AC power supply. This allows easy adaptation to a variety of mounting configurations while eliminating the complication of an external power supply.
The 150P4 also has an AUTOadjustment feature, which provides optimal screen performance by pressing a single button and negates the need to navigate through on-screen display menus and control keys. This means the 150P4 presents a perfect picture in a matter of seconds.
