Philips Business Communications (PBC) has launched a new division, the professional services division, to service and install call centres for businesses in South Africa.
The team of experts, headed up by Emil Le Grange, focuses on assisting PBC`s current customer base within the PABX segment. According to Le Grange, the division has been set up to develop call centres, with the main emphasis being on CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) and IVR (Interactive Voice Response) applications.
PBC international has been in the call centre industry for eight years and has a proven track record, having provided value adding solutions to the Bank of Austria, Erasmus Brug in the Netherlands and Western Digital.
PBC has a popular `out of the box` call centre product, the Intelligent Call Distributor 810 (ICD810), which has scaleable call centre technology and the capability to service small to medium sized call centres. PBC also supplies the new ContactCentre 400 series, a call centre product designed to service medium to large call centres. The professional services division specialises in call centre architecture, providing solutions for clients with different needs.
"Members of my team are consultants who use their considerable experience and expertise to provide clients with a custom made solution," says Le Grange. "We have expertise in platform engineering, systems analysis and system development. We specialise in implementation and installation, taking care of everything from cabling, monitors, software and hardware. In short we provide turnkey call centre projects."
Some current reference sites of the professional services division are Boland bank, who were supplied with an outbound call centre and the South African Police in Port Elizabeth. A system was installed in the P.E. Police Station whereby on arrival of an incoming call a map lights up on a screen and the position of the caller is automatically indicated. The success of this project has lead to the Police proposing to expand this system nationwide.
