The local subsidiary of Dutch electronics stalwart Philips has released the 190S5 19-inch LCD monitor, aimed at professional and consumer PC owners requiring a faster and more dynamic video and gaming experience.
Tyrone Young, marketing manager: monitors at Philips, says that with a super-fast 12 millisecond (ms) response time, the 190S5 ensures that action and rapid scene changes in video, gaming and multimedia content are reproduced with sharp motion and detail. "This is the first 19-inch LCD monitor in the market to offer a 12ms response time.
"For gaming in particular, the faster response of the monitor brings significant benefits to the playing experience and enjoyment," he says. "Most of today`s popular action games demand high speed and fast response, and the new monitor eliminates distracting image ghosting or blurring which means more enjoyment and better scores for gamers."
The fast response time is just one aspect of the monitor`s front-of-screen performance. The 1 280 x 1 024 resolution SXGA TFT panel ensures pin-sharp display of all images, while sRGB ensures accurate colour matching between images onscreen and image being printed out.
The sharp, high resolution and flicker-free LCD display also delivers a more comfortable viewing experience for end-users spending long periods of time in front of their monitors.
"This comfort consideration extends further with the design of the monitor itself," says Young. "The display can be tilted to allow the user to set the ideal viewing angle, resulting in greater working comfort and a reduction in fatigue and eyestrain."
