With the launch of new software distribution and publishing company, Phoenix Software, South Africa will join the worldwide Global Publishing Network of which Phoenix will be the SA partner. This launch brings with it a wide range of new software products that will be published in South Africa and available through the local channel in May.
Robert Hall, country manager for Phoenix Software, says: "We are focusing on software that is niche and aimed at various vertical markets. Our major strength lies in our association with the international publishing network, Global Publishing, which enables us to differentiate from other software distributors by virtue of the fact that we will be publishing and distributing locally. In terms of the channel, it allows us to deliver cost-effective software to resellers, thereby allowing them huge margin opportunities on resale."
Phoenix Software, who is looking for dealers and resellers to join this venture, will be the sole publisher and distributor of the following products in South Africa: Divx Video Duplicator, InkSaver, Mobile Phone Tools, BlackICE Server Protection, BlackICE PC Protection and Opus Presenter.
Divx Video Duplicator enables entire films to be stored on a single CD-ROM and backs up videotapes to protect them from loss of quality over time. InkSaver configures your printer to allow the user to control the amount of ink used, making cartridges last longer. Using InkSaver you can use less ink without losing quality on the highest resolution inkjet settings. Mobile Phone Tools is a PC solution offering everything the mobile communicator desires including a cellular phone, offering a familiar interface with which people are acquainted.
BlackICE Server Protection offers professional strength security protection for Web, file, database and application servers. By merging a commercial strength firewall with advanced intrusion detection, BlackICE offers a powerful tool for guarding against server-based information attack or misuse. BlackICE PC Protection offers professional strength protection for home or small office PCs. Finally, Opus Presenter lets you create compelling and engaging presentations, training and interactive documents with full rich media content.
