Phoenix signs Navigon

Johannesburg, 26 Oct 2010

Specialist distributor Phoenix Distribution, holding company for Phoenix Software, has been appointed official distributor for the Navigon range of GPS products in South Africa.

Navigon is a major addition to the company's product portfolio, expanding its line-up to meet with its growth strategy. Navigon has a well-established international footprint, and Phoenix Software will be providing leading retailers and their consumers in South Africa with the GPS devices from November 2010.

Simon Campbell-Young, CEO of Phoenix, says Navigon's wide range of products fit perfectly with the company's product line-up, allowing it to expand the current portfolio in a strategically significant way.

“We will be offering our channel and retail partners Navigon products alongside our current brands, allowing our customers the opportunity to substantially expand their breadth in their respective market segments,” he says. “We see the Navigon products as a perfect fit with our business model. Partnering with Navigon allows us to service our customers with another premium brand, and provides us the opportunity to further diversify and grow our offering.”

Phoenix specialises in providing the South African ICT channel with premium software and accessory products, and is a major software publisher with a broad range of niche consumer, educational, volume licensed and server/enterprise products. This partnership provides a major boost for the company's strategy, which aims to be a major player in the accessory segment in South Africa.

“While Navigon has been present in the local market for some time now, there has been significant room for growth and improvement - in both service levels to resellers as well as general growth of the brand. We are positive that we can achieve this, and our experience and expertise backs this up. This is a good fit for us because both companies share similar business and service ethics, as we are both very much focused on customer centricity and service orientation,” says Campbell-Young. “This partnership is an ideal marriage between two companies totally committed to making the best products available to the market. We strive on growing brands, and look forward to taking on the challenge of acquiring significant market-share, within this segment.”
