Johannesburg, 22 Feb 2007

Phoenix Software, one of the foremost software republishers, and MicroWorld, a leading solution provider for information technology, content security and communications software, have signed an important partnership agreement for distribution in South Africa.

MicroWorld has spent the last 12 years developing solutions in the Internet security market.

MicroWorld is well established as a leader in providing content security, anti-virus and corporate communications software solutions. The company develops innovative solutions for large corporates, small enterprise and individual users.

"MicroWorld is an important partner for us," commented Simon Campbell Young, CEO of Phoenix Software. "With the rapidly developing IT market, all enterprise and home users have to be sure they are fully protected against viruses and they need to feel confident that local and network servers are clean. Corporates will love MailScan - a content security software for the mail servers, to scan e-mails, attachment files and Web pages on a real-time basis," he stated.

Included in the MicroWorld product range are titles that the company has developed itself:

eScan is an enterprise-wide anti-virus software that scans the local and network drives for viruses and cleans them on real-time basis using the MWL technology.

MailScan is a content security software for corporate mail servers, to scan e-mails, attachment files and Web pages on a real-time basis. It is developed using the MWL technology.

eScan Internet Security Suite is a comprehensive security solution designed and developed to protect personal computers from threats like viruses, spyware, adware, malware, keyloggers, hackers, spammers, privacy-related issues, objectionable content and many more.

MicroWorld invented "MicroWorld WinSock Layer" (MWL) - a revolutionary concept in scanning Internet traffic on a real-time basis. This new concept has changed the way in which content security threats are tackled in the knowledge world. MWL analyses Internet traffic and potential threats before they reach your system. Other solutions available in the market deal with the threat after the threats have infected your system.

MicroWorld products are available at Incredible Connection stores countrywide and online e-tailers Kalahari.net, Digital Planet, Computrolley and Telkomsa.net.
