Mobile PhoneTools, recently released in SA by Phoenix Software, a member of the Global Publishing Network, is the all-in-one PC solution offering everything the mobile communicator desires.
Mobile PhoneTools allows you to make full use of your PC and cellphone in conjunction with one another using General Packet Radio Services (GPRS), and is configured with a number of international operators, including the three South African operators - MTN, Vodacom and Cell C.
"Primarily this program allows the user to write and send SMSs, including long messages, faxes - almost any document prepared in Windows - and other data to the recipient using a cellphone. Multiple users can also be entered for any type of data sent," explains Phoenix country manager, Robert Hall.
Once the user has sent data, it is transmitted as a phone call rather than over the Internet, making this a great product for anyone who does not have access to the Internet. Mobile PhoneTools is compatible with most major cellphone brands and phones can be connected to a PC via PC card modem, cable, Compact Flash, IrDA and Bluetooth.
Hall concludes: "Using this option, which is compatible with Outlook, Outlook Express and Lotus Notes, the user has access to an unlimited number of databases, number directories and contacts, making true mobile communication and document transmission possible from anywhere."
