Photokina is coming
One of the largest biennial photo/imaging tradeshows, Photokina, is going to be held from 23 to 29 September in Cologne, Germany, states Crave.
The organiser, Koelnmesse GmbH, today briefed the press in China and Singapore on key figures and trends at the upcoming show.
At press time, over 90% of the show space has been booked, with over 100 new exhibitors stated.
Xerox hosts workshop
Xerox recently hosted a Thought Leadership Workshop in Webster, New York, for commercial printers interested in revenue-generating digital books opportunities, reports What They Think.
Held at Xerox's Gil Hatch Centre for Customer Innovation, the workshop was aimed at print providers new to digital printing.
Xerox will host a number of Thought Leadership Workshops at the Gil Hatch Centre throughout 2008, including a photo books event and another digital books and manuals workshop on 25 and 26 June, among other events touching all areas of the industry.
Sri Lanka printing rises
Silver Circle, which specialises in large format digital printers, imaging and graphics as well as sign industry equipment in Sri Lanka and Maldives, has installed over 100 Infiniti, DGI, Mimaki and Seiko printers island-wide, says The Sunday Times Online.
The company said the range of equipment includes digital printers, architectural drawing plotters, sign cutters/plotters, laser engraver/cutters, CNC routers and engravers, laminating and mounting machines, portable display stands and LED displays boards.
Chairman Supem de Silva set up the first Digital Imaging Studio and the first large format printer at the Kent Group of Companies in 1994, through German training and technology, starting the digital imaging and printing industry in Sri Lanka.
