PIC appoints chief operating officer

As part of the continued expansion in the South African market place, PIC Solutions has appointed David McAlpin as COO.

In this newly created role of COO, David adds significant weight to the existing executive team and will assist with the day-to-day running of all operations and the development of an ongoing sustainable growth strategy for the company. In this position David will also be responsible for all of the various delivery departments at PIC Solutions

David has extensive international and local business experience and has held senior executive positions in the Massmart Group, CNA, Forza and the Lewis Group. As part of the Massmart Group he held the positions of commercial director and was also a member of the executive committee for the seven years he was there. At Dion Stores, David was marketing and managing director and was responsible for IT and systems. David was the CEO of Forza (a listed luxury motor and outdoor leisure lifestyle distribution group) for four years and was the MD of CNA for 3 years where he was responsible for the turnaround and repositioning of the company. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Rhodes University and is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA). David also holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
