Over the past three months PIC Solutions software specialists have been providing business and technical input and assistance with the implementation of the VisionPLUS account processing system at Akbank in Turkey.
The PIC team is one component of a large group of international IT professionals who have been assembled onsite at Akbank, to ensure that the implementation of VisionPLUS release 8 is a success. The project is being managed by PaySys International, an FDR company.
Akbank, with over 3.5 million customers, is one of the largest banks in Turkey, offering a wide-range of financial and insurance products and services to its clientele. The conversion project involves the implementation of all modules of the VisionPLUS system, including GUI (graphical user interface) for VisionPLUS. This provides Akbank personnel with user-friendly screens, while at the same time reducing the training time required for the new mainframe host system.
Mike Crawley, Director of Software Services at PIC Solutions, states: "PIC personnel have been able to apply their practical retail and bankcard business experience, in the form of parameter settings and user acceptance testing, to ensure that all functionality and modules have been completely tested. The team has also brought in-depth technical knowledge to the project and they have been involved in the analysis and programming of core VisionPLUS functionality."
The first phase of the project, which involved converting all of Akbank`s Europay cards onto the new VisionPLUS account processing system has now been successfully completed. The next phase of the project, scheduled for 2002, will involve the conversion of Akbank`s Visa and American Express card portfolios.
