PIC Solutions was selected by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to participate in an outward trade mission to Dubai in February.
The Dubai trade mission was an opportunity for seven ICT software companies with experience in telecommunications, computing, security software, networking and Internet technologies, and communication systems to showcase SA`s highly developed niche software capabilities.
This outward mission was undertaken to identify potential export opportunities and possible strategic partnerships within the information and communications technology and electronics (ICTE) sector. To ensure the success of this potential trading relationship, companies were financially assisted by the DTI under the Export Marketing Investment Assistance Scheme (EMIA).
Yusuf Timolts, Senior Manager of the Electrotechnical division at the DTI, comments: "The DTI is actively promoting SA as a provider of specialist ICTE products and services to the international market. This trade mission exposed South African companies to the Middle Eastern market and ensured that new export opportunities and trade leads were realised in conjunction with forging new lasting relationships."
Stephen Leonard, Managing Director of PIC Solutions, adds: "PIC Solutions has been actively involved with projects in Africa and the Middle East. This trade mission created an opportunity for us to explore potential trade leads and strategic relationships with companies impacted by credit risk in the Middle East. We believe that South African-based companies have a lot to offer the international market, and initiatives such as this will greatly assist local companies to showcase their expertise to foreign markets."
