Pilot Software, leader in Point-of-Sale software solutions for the hospitality industry, has been appointed master value-added reseller in SA for Authority Online, a comprehensive new generation Windows-based retail software and inventory management system.
Launched in 1998, Authority Online has found a niche in the retail and telecommunications' industries in Zimbabwe and SA due to the total adaptability, in-built intelligence, workflow management and powerful analysis tools of the package.
Managing Director of Pilot Software, Kevan McQuade, comments: "Authority Online complements our existing retail package, WinPOS Millenium, aimed at Tier 3 and 4 retailers, needing a cost-effective solution.
"Authority Online enables us to target the larger retail companies requiring powerful functionality and features. It's an all-encompassing software system that communicates around a network in a warehouse or distribution type environment. The software is scalable and will be rented out an affordable price."
The system is totally proactive with the capacity to analyse business requirements and provide asset tracking and protection through inventory management, such as serial number tracking.
The reporting capabilities are different from other packages, as the Executive Business System module constantly reviews a company's financial turnover and margins and proactively provides the user with the type of information they require to effectively run a business. The package also integrates easily with other established financial packages, such as Pastel, Brilliant and Great Plains.
The workflow management capabilities are compelling (hence the name Authority) as they instruct staff and management on routines, such as time for stocktaking, etc, as well as reporting when tasks have been completed or not.
Chris Boyes-Moffatt, Managing Director of Authority Online, developer of the package, comments: "Our master VAR agreement with Pilot Software will result in greater penetration of the product into the market place, as Pilot is well equipped to embark on a strong marketing and sales drive, as well as offer countrywide service and around-the-clock support. We will continue to focus on our core competency, which is software development with the view of introducing some advanced features to the package, such as SMS, as well as ongoing upgrades."
