Pilot Software buys Tshwane partner

Johannesburg, 16 Jan 2014

Pilot Software Holdings has purchased its Tshwane partner, Pilot Software Tshwane, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction is effective 1 February 2014.

The purchase comes four years after the region was established as a separate business, to provide localised sales and support infrastructure. In that time, the Tshwane company's turnover and profit have more than tripled, and the Pilot brand has been firmly established, with hundreds of Pretoria sites using Pilot's industry leading point of sale software and modules.

Says Glenn Miller, Pilot Software MD: "The acquisition of our Pretoria partner ties in with our strategy of being more directly involved in each region of South Africa. Local expertise and experience allowed the region to develop substantially, and we are thankful to the Pilot Software Tshwane management for their tireless efforts over the last few years. We will be retaining all operational staff and infrastructure, but will increase our sales and marketing efforts in the region. We expect further regional acquisitions or joint ventures in the near future."

Pilot will also focus on converting legacy sites in Tshwane over to its new SQL2 platform, with optional mobile ordering devices and cloud-based analytics.
