Pilot Software, a member of the Softline Group, now introduces Pilot Taxfile.co.za, an online facility enabling any individual and/or business to submit returns and electronic payments to the South African Revenue Services (SARS) through the Hicor Paybills Service Centre.

Pilot's parent company, Softline, has entered into an agreement with Hicor, one of the five service providers appointed by SARS to provide online submission and payment services to taxpayers. Pilot Taxfile.co.za enables any registered taxpayer and/or user of Pilot's Point-of-Sale software to quickly and easily receive, complete, submit and pay tax returns through a secure and encrypted environment.

Kevan McQuade, managing director of Pilot Software, comments: "The benefits to the user are enormous, translating into a tremendous reduction of costs (about R80 per month to use the system), increased levels of service, convenience of paying online 24-hours-a-day, guaranteed electronic proof of return delivery and payment, secure encryption to SARS, full secure history of transactions, paperless processing, reminders via e-mail or SMS when return are due - to name a few."

Users can submit VAT, PAYE, SDL (Skills Development Levy) using Pilot Taxfile.co.za. The procedure is very simple and involves subscribing with and registering for e-filing directly via the Pilot Web site through the Hicor PayBills Service centre.

Once the user has registered, they will be presented with an e-filing reference number. In addition, the user needs to then set up security profiles to link the electronic payments to the user's preferred banking institution. Once this is complete, the user is able to complete and submit tax forms and make electronic payments.

McQuade adds: "The system is totally user-friendly and secure, using the latest security technology and measures to safeguard the user's transactions and personal data. We also invite accountants, bookkeepers and value-added resellers to use Pilot Taxfile.co.za, as it provides them all with an opportunity to increase service levels and efficiency to their client base.

"As leading providers of POS front and back office software systems to the hospitality and retail industries, we will naturally market taxfile.co.za to our client base of over 1 300 companies, with plans of integrating the online system directly into our application."

System requirements to use the Pilot Taxfile.co.za are Internet access and a Web browser.
