Pink Elephant celebrates 10 years in SA

Johannesburg, 23 Jan 2014

This year sees Pink Elephant, the leading provider of IT management solutions, entering its 10th year since its launch into the South African and African market.

Kicked off in 2004 by Neil and Kate Petford, offering best practice education and consulting services, the company has grown to almost 200 individuals across the core offering as well as IT Support services, added in 2009.

From its initial customer base consisting of Engen, the South African Reserve Bank and Telkom, Pink has to date delivered IT service management education programmes to over 20 000 individuals across the continent, and works closely with hundreds of organisations to assist in transforming their IT services.

"This 10th year certainly sees a far more mature market than when we first started out, with the benefits of IT service management and governance firmly entrenched within public and private sector organisations and the general awareness and knowledge of the subject at a significantly higher level," says Neil Petford. "We're extremely proud to have been a part of this development of skills in the market; it's really great to see ITIL certification from Pink Elephant on most CVs that we receive in response to our regular recruitment drives."

Coinciding with the anniversary, this year sees more exciting developments within the group that complement the offering to Pink's customers and create further opportunities for growth, including:

* A reformatted approach to education that offers Fast Track and Bundled events across the ITIL, PRINCE2 and COBIT frameworks, allowing for significant savings of time and money in achieving certification.
* The introduction of new courses such as Agile Project Management and Sourcing Governance, among others.
* The ongoing development of the company's partnership with Bright Horse IT Automation (www.bright-horse.co.za), a preferred Cherwell Service Management and Bomgar partner, allowing Pink to support these important customer technology implementations with its best practice experience.
* The development of an applications division offering specific insurance claims management solutions (www.claims2020.co.za). This solution, developed by Pink's sister organisation in the Netherlands on the Mendix platform, is the initial project of many exciting industry-specific offerings to come out of this close relationship.

Recognising that this success hasn't happened in isolation, Pink Elephant will be initiating various celebrations throughout the year culminating in an event for all of the staff, customers and suppliers that were and are part of the journey over the last decade. "We have many stories to tell," ends Petford.
