Lesley Copeman, General Manager of Pink Software, has announced the 1 August release of TurboCASH T3 and the company`s open source policy.
"Pink Software has introduced TurboCASH T3 as an Internet Aware Accounting Package. In an aggressive move, we are cutting the price of TurboCASH from R1 254 to R997.50. Pink is committing TurboCASH 2.03 to the public domain. The product is now downloadable free from www.pinksoftware.com," said Copeman.
"We are making our Transaction Server open source and committing to develop the product for the XML standard. The Lotus Domino version of the Accounting Server remains available only as a bundle with Domino at a price of R12 000."
"The aim is to bring as many developers online as fast as possible. They can make use of the TurboCASH programs as a back-end product to E-Commerce Server, Web Shop, Auction Site or any Point of Sale Device capable of reading and writing XML Input." They will be able to obtain the Delphi source to the Accounting Server and to run it on their server royalty-free.
First to take up the challenge of developing a front-end system is the AIM project at UCT which aims to bring a Web presence and a remote point of sale presence to a TurboCASH Transaction Server.
