Pink Software, publishers of TurboCASH Accounting, has announced a technology alliance with Taxbreak.co.za, suppliers of online tax return and payment services.
Announcing the deal, Philip Copeman, managing director of Pink Software, said: "We have over 10 000 TurboCASH users and most of these will want to benefit from the increased communication with SARS. Users will in particular get access to the assessment status of their returns and have a full history of dealings with SARS available online. We believe that Taxbreak.co.za will be the market leaders in this field and are logical partners for our users."
Kevin Williams, MD of Taxbreak.co.za, said: "Our aim is to provide services to over 400 000 VAT and PAYE payers. Pink, with their TurboCASH product, gives us a head start into the SOHO and SME markets."
Authorised by SARS, the Taxbreak.co.za service will handle all companies` returns for VAT, PAYE and provisional tax. The systems will also facilitate payments of returns, maintain a record of accounts and manage tax queries online. Pink will develop Client Software that will enable TurboCASH users to submit multiple sets of books. The system will not be limited to TurboCASH, but will also link up with other popular South African Accounting and Payroll Systems.
Costs of the system will begin at R1 000 per company per year. This is at a cost of less than R40 per return. The system will go live in June 2001, but users can sign up now for the service at Taxbreak.co.za.
